The Brotherhood sponsored the annual Black History Program.  The theme was “Empowering African Americans through Political Awareness”.  The speaker for the occasion was Representative Jerry N. Govan, Jr., Democrat- Orangeburg, South Carolina, who delivered a very enlightening Address.  He addressed three important factors of empowering the African American community; loving each other; respecting each other; and encouraging each other.  In Rep. Govan’s conclusion, he eloquently encouraged us to not foolishly miss our blessings because we fail to recognize that God has already placed our blessings upon us.
